Dynamics NAV 2015 is launched and has quite a few new features. One of them is called Application Simplification.

Auto-filled No. Fields is one of the Simplification items in Dynamics NAV 2015 as part of what Microsoft calls Simplified UX. Simplified UX also contains:

• Mandatory Fields
• Totals on Sales and Purchase Documents
• Simplified Pages

Benefits

Auto-filled no. fields for documents with unique number series makes it faster to process since those fields can be skipped.

Auto-filled No. Fields

On Sales and Purchase documents where only one number series exist for that type of document,(and is not manually) the No. field is automatically filled with the next number in the series. The No. field is also not visible on the document.

If more than one number series exist for a document, or no series exists, then the No. field is always visible. You can choose or select the number series as usual.

For example: the Sales order has multiple number series, so the No. field is shown.

The Purchase Order has an unique number series and is not set on manually. Therefore the No. Field is automatically field and hidden on the page.
