Windows 10 will be available on 29 July. Microsoft has announced this news in a blog post. The latest software version of the company is initially only available for PCs and tablets. The version for smartphones and for example the Xbox will be released later this year.
Windows 10 has been much discussed in the last few months since the announcement last year. It is an important update for Microsoft. Windows 10 will work the same on all devices. Furthermore is the old familiar Start menu returning in custom shape.
For users who are running Windows 7 or 8.1 the software will be free for download for the first year. Users of Windows 7 and 8.1 will receive on Monday a notification that they can register for Windows 10 so they can download and install the update when if available.

iOS- and Android-apps on Windows
In recent years, Microsoft faced the problem that many developers preferred to build apps for iOS and Android. The result was that you get fewer applications in the Windows App Store and that for example, it took quite a while before Instagram came with a Windows app.
Microsoft wants to change that. In Windows 10 it should be easier for iOS and Android developers to get their apps ready for Windows.
