Dropbox has released a first version of Notes. That is software that makes it possible to work together on texts. For now it is a beta for which an invitation is necessary.
Anyone interested in Notes may register via the corresponding URL. Dropbox gives you access to the note software, but it is unclear whether anyone immediately will be admitted to the beta. Because Dropbox has made no official announcement it is also unclear when the final version of the software will be released.
Notes is, like the photo application Carousel, integrated with the cloud storage service Dropbox. It is among other things possible to work together on notes. Dropbox has released a picture that shows how it looks within a note. It seems that the note software is primarily intended for use by businesses.
It was already known that Dropbox would come up with a note-taking application. Earlier this month was revealed that the company had put up a web page under the name Project Composer. Notes is probably derived from the acquisition of HackPad, a company that was working on similar software.
